Dear Fellow Unionist:
I know that you're told time and time again that Election Day will be important, but this November 6th WILL be a defining day for Michigan's working men and women.
Proposal 2 will protect our right to collectively bargain with our employers by amending the state constitution to guarantee the right of workers to organize and bargain collectively through labor unions. Collective bargaining protects all working families in Michigan by giving workers a voice to come together with employers to negotiate fair wages, good benefits, and safer working conditions.
Brothers and sisters, we MUST pass Proposal 2 this November, but we also need to help elect leaders who will stand with us against the anti-worker policies of corporate special interests.
As a democratic organization, the Greater Lansing Labor Council has come together with our members to endorse candidates who stand with working families. Please look over this post card and familiarize yourself with the candidates and proposals we are supporting this November.
Also, don't forget about the non-partisan section of your ballot. Michigan's Supreme Court Justices are elected to 8 year terms. It?s extremely important that we elect Justices who will defend our rights, and uphold the law. Remember: "Before you give your ballot back, Vote Kelley, Johnson, and McCormack!"
